resetting ECU

I have an 03 CL-S 6-speed. Last time I took the red and black leads off my battery to reset it, then all hell broke loose. My car had to re-learn everything. But I remember on my 99 TL all I had to do is take the fuse out of the clock/backup for a few seconds and it reset it. Can I do the same in this car without having the car re-learn everything again? Whats the proper way to do it? Thanks

normally i think if you pull that fuse it will loose the radio code and such too, but the best way to reset the ecu without having to re-learn everything else would be with a scan tool (a code reader should be able to do it too)

^ that will clear codes, but not reset the ecu.

On the 03s you need to put the car into a relearn. Pull the clock backup fuse. You wont need to put the radio code in with that method.
