Replacing stock horn

I got a 2001 Tl, the stock horn sounds so wimpy. Its not very loud either. I honk at people on the freeway if I need to and it seems like they can't even hear me. I sometimes can't even hear it if my radio is on loud. Maybe replace it with a regular horn, a normal sounding one like the new 09+ TLs have, they sound nice. Anyone know of a link to buy one? Also easy to do it yourself? Thanks!

I thought of doing this myself too, I'm planning to replace it with a higher pitch one plus relocate it on the front. Other honda's horn should work, and it should be cheap.

You can get one of the junk yard from an older Lincoln or Caddy for like 5 bucks, they came two in one.

I have a set of train horns that I'm planning on installing this summer behind my front bumper in a way you will not be able to see them on my 2005 TL with a custom bracket I need to make/fit. I eye balled it and measured the room in that area and they should fit. I will have a small compressor in the engine bay and run air lines to a five gallon air tank I will have in my trunk. I also plan to have it hooked up in a way that I will be able to hit a switch to arm it and be able to use my stock horn switch in the steering wheel. This post may help on this topic.

look for how to pull the front bumper off in the DIY section, horns are right there behind the grill/bumper

The horn off my 99 locates right behind the grill, pop the hood, remove the black plastic cover in top front of the radiator, and the horn is right there.

02-03 you gotta pull the bumper, cause the grill is attached to the front bumper, instead of being on the hood itself, either way not very hard to get to, just gotta pull a panel or two off to access it

same location, at least the same general location/area if not the exact same horns and mounting locations between the two

plug and play, depends on what horns you are using, cause unless the new one is from an acura or a honda, it won't be plug and play, but then again not that hard to wire up though, two wires to each (and they are both the same on both horns), on power/switched/signal wire, and ground

also getting the wire/connector with the new horn would really help to in being able to wire it up easily
