Replacing HID Bulb

Ok guys, I know someone is gonig to get mad because this is probably every where on the site, I've been really busy and have not been able to find it, if someone can please copy and paste the link on how to replace the bulb I would really appreciate it. Thanks

If it's as simple as any other headlight bulb I can do it, just want to clear that up.

It's not as easy as others since it is HID. All the other bulbs are easy - high-beam, signals, running lights. The HID is the low beam.

There is a cover on the back with nasty warnings about high voltage that you have to remove first. Before attempting to remove that cover, you first have to remove the little torx head screw. Now you can remove the cover by rotating it a quarter-turn and pulling it off; it will only rotate one direction due to a little lip where the screw goes in, so don't force it the wrong direction.

The bulb is only held in place by a little wire clip that slips into a notch below the bulb. The wire is bent into a little circle on the end, so find that, press it down and to the side to release it. Now gently pull the bulb straight out. DON'T TOUCH THE GLASS ON THE BULB! Oil from your skin will burn and ruin the bulb. Installation is the reverse.

Re-inserting the bulb can be tricky because sometimes it's hard to tell if it is seated properly, and you have to keep the wire clip out-of-the-way while doing it. After inserting the bulb, if the wire clip doesn't cooperate, the bulb probably isn't in there correctly.

About all the warnings about voltage being present in the bulb...any concerns there? What sort of precautions should one take to avoid getting shocked or frying something?

The warning is purely to cover Acura's ass. Keep the key out of the ignition and headlights off, and you'll be fine.

Remember, don't touch the glass part of the bulb with bare hands.

If you have a Wife or a Girlfriend take one of their mirrors. They should have a thin 6" or so mirror. Stick it down between the opening and look at how the clip works. Once you see it it is easy to undo.

Going to do this tonight, I noticed on the driver side there is a black cover behind the head light covering the torx head screw which is easily visable on the passenger side, now can I just remove that to get the light out or does the battery have to come out, just asking because it seems like a tight space.

Thanks!

If you look closely at that small black cover there are 2 pull clips towards the top. Pull those out and pull up on the cover. you will have access to it. I replaced mine with the battery in . I have a CAI which made it easier for me, but it can be done with every thing on.

I tried the passenger side HID tonight but I couldn't seem to get the cover out of the way enough to be able to pull the bulb straight out. I moved the washer fluid refill tube, but the power steering reservoir remained in the way. I would have tried to move that, but I didn't have a ratchet extension. Will moving that be enough? Does anyone have any tips for me?

Nothing needs to be removed there to get it out.

I must be missing something then. I don't see how I can pull it straight out with that cover in the way.
