yea it was only 45 bucks, but all i gained from that experience is a new shiny pipe in place of the dirty resonators and some knowledge.

i think the only way to see any type of immediate notice of change is to pay for better mufflers or go with bigger piping from the front... this was a waste of 2 tanks of premium gas to burn.

i call ....dude i jus took the mid muffler in the back off and it sounded good enough....got a nice and drone sound out of it...remember we dont have a 350Z or Ferrari....u could go with the Dynomax Resonator...give it a lil bit becuz after a while mine got a lil louder and sufficient enough...

i can take pictures... theyre both still in the trunk

even my girl says theres nothing from the outside..

and to earlier.... im sure i would get tired of those straight pipes... but pulling people over here for exhaust definately wont be happening soon. especially when the cops get exhaust work done at one of the local shops on their bikes.. its the loudest sh*t on the planet lol

I think the problem was that it wasn't seated correctly. Code hasn't come back but it probably still had some life yanked out of it when the pipe fell.

As far as saying I shouldn't have done it...well I say that mainly because this wasn't something that was necessary (removing the muffler) but I spent money on it (especially since my funds are low). The sound is ok; it's not too in your face but if I ever decide to hook the sounds up in this car, I'm gonna have to reinstall the muffler. I'd rather have music than a loud exhaust.

is there a reason that some people could be getting much different results?

i cant think of any variables that would change in replacing 2 foot of straight pipe

^^^I think the difference could be condition of stock mufflers, type s vs tlp engines, things like that i suppose

My tl-p sounded different. While this mod wont make a huge change in over all sound loudness it changes the pitch.

Make sure you don't have any leaks but in that case your exhaust would probably sound louder. All a muffler is is just something that does destructive interference so that sound waves cancel out. If you're not getting sound something else may going on that is unknowingly doing the interference. Is the pipe diameter the same as the pipe on the car?

I was under the impression you didn't get any bass but I just listened to yours; mine doesn't sound much different. To me the sound is very noticeable compared to the sound made with the mid-muffler installed. You must be going for something more.

i had an earlier video of stock.. i'll have to post it up.. but if you didnt know any better.. you'd think its the same video aside from the camera position...

even the guy who did the work laughed after backing it off the rack... he said sorry it did nothing

its fine... it will make a big difference when i get around to changing the rear mufflers...

The sound is annoying to me now. I hate hearing every minute change in engine RPM. I really don't even know why I got it done...I've always wanted a quiet exhaust!

just be lucky you can hear anything.

the only change i got in my car is a small hum on ignition only when its cold... after the car is started. the sound never comes back.

oh and i got some pretty silver piping under the car.

im just goin with a custom cat back.

you'll only hear the exhaust between 1k-2.5k, after that the engine over powers it, so that vid by Rockstar where you just rev it really isnt where your going to hear the difference

Yup, except that's where my tach usually falls in, and maybe the fact that it's city-driving is what is "destroying" it for me; the constant acceleration & deceleration vs. the highway-induced monotone.

my video is only rev's up to 3 and 3.5

i'd post a video of me starting from zero and slowly accelerating, but you wont hear anything..

the video i posted is just a few taps on the gas from a low idle... even if the range of sound is that small.. you would notice some bass.. i have none.

i guess some people hear things others dont..
or maybe if you want to hear it you will. i guess i was just expecting a difference seeing how they are both there to quiet the exhaust.

mine sounds like shit now. but thats because my mufflers are done. so if you did the mod and you dont have any sound different. chances are your mufflers are on their way out and you will get rasp very soon.

ONLY REMOVE THE MID MUFFLER. DO NOT REMOVE THE APPLE JUICE CAN

i thought most people remove the apple juice can, then if they want it louder they remove the bigger one? why are you saying not to remove the apple juice looking one..

i have comptech axlebacks.. i'm sort of satisfied, but not quite yet. i want more of a throaty sound.. i was thinking of doing 2.5" piping from the cat back and removing the apple juice resonator and leaving the big one in.. what do you think? i don't want to remove both because of fear of having rasp. or should i remove the large one and keep the apple juice on in?

i'd like to add i wouldn't want it to get crazy annoying loud inside the car either like kris was mentioning.. so i don't know.. all i know is i want my exhaust to sound more throaty without having unbearable drone in the car

all i have right now is comptech axlebacks and a aem intake, i plan on doing headers in the summer
