here is a video clip of my exhaust after it's been warmed up. it seemed to have gotten louder ... after the 3 minutes, my windows are opened.

Nice clip! The outside pics of you driving by sound great...nice deep growl. And from the interior shots, it doesn't really sound that much different from stock, inside the car.

I just got both resonators removed today for $43. Now, I can hear the resonance from the XS headers even more. I just tightened all the bolts for the headers back down (I've had them on for about a week) and I could hear it even more. When I first started leaving the place it sounded real bad at 2-3K RPMs in 1st gear. But after I drove for a little bit, it went away.

How about getting the codes read at any auto parts store and find out what is causing it. Its not good to be driving with it on.

The only thing I thought it could be was an o2 but that is up front. I went to Advance Auto and the guy couldn't find the diagnosis port. But other than that the car runs fine and the mpg is the same as before.

Those arent dummy lights and can lead to more damage down the road.

Pull the plastic panel under the "not a ashtray" out and the port is there

I had my local muffler shop install 2 and a half inch straight pipes where the dual factory mufflers used to be. makes a deep growl but was wondering if removing the small one also will cause backfiring or make it annoyingly loud

If you are thinking about which one to take off, take them both off. You will not really get anything out of it with one. Sounds perfect with both taken off. BTW, what other mods do you have (engine wise)?

Hmm...this sound interesting. I might have to get this done, since budget is low after all sort of parts. Just to be sure, you guys are removing the big thing and that cylindrical tube?

There's no point in even posting clips. You can't really tell the difference in sound unless you are using a really good mic. Just take it off it makes it sound a lot better. I will warn you that if you are having resonance from the headers it will make the resonance louder, but it isn't going to make it sound like a riced out Civic or anything like that.

i agree... its barely noticeable. in no way will it sound like a civic.. honestly, i think the only reason you even notice the difference in sound is because you know the resonator is gone.. if a random person sat in your car, they wouldn't notice a thing.

Its way to hard to capture the sound accurately. Just have them removed if you still have the stock mufflers.

Well since my flex pipe on the Megan headers had a slight leak and caused a lot of noise. I thought I might as well have that replaced with a straight pipe and have the 2 resonators done at the same time.

They put stainless steel pipe from catback to mufflers instead of cutting and installing short pipe to fill the gap. I like it better that way since I'm not going to upgrade the exhaust which will hopefully last a little longer now.

As for sound, 100 times better. And I agree that you can't get a good audio recording of it and expect to have it sound like as if you are there. This mod is definately you have to hear it in person

I wouldn't mind doing this.
But always wanted strait pipes, what do you guys think?
is it better? more performance? TooLoud?
cause i can get strait pipes from the headers all the way down for about a bill.
i was thinking maybe 2"-2.25"
any sugestions???
