red or yellow top?

Did some searching, and found some mix reviews on the two types of optima batteries. I need to get a new one since the dealer says the battery failed a load test. So instead of having them put one in i decided to get an optima. I've read the red top has better cranking power but the yellow can be drained and charged more often and is better for aftermarket stereos.

I have an aftermarket stereo but its not that big, maybe 700 watts max, just wondering would the yellow be better or is it over kill and a red top is just fine.

thx
michael

A red top will do the job.You don't have a massive stereo system. But if you sit in it a lot and play your radio I say get a yellow top.

A red top can be drained and recharged just like the yellow. With what you have and where you live i would stick with the red

Yellow tops are no longer avalible since optima stopped making them. Any that can be found have been sitting on the shelf for the past year.

No problem guys, i tried like hell to get a 51r for my s/c and NO were could get on so i called my supplier which in turn called johnson controls (interstae, power connection, optima...) and they confirmed that they will do not produce them any more. Im glad i was able to steal the one out of my brothers race car HAHAHAHA
