Rebuilt transmission Performance ?

My transmission whent out at 83,000 and im having it replaced by the dealer. Whats the deal with the rebuilt transmission they put in the 99 TL. Do they have the same performance ? My dealer said it will be less agressive, and they do somthing to the computer to make it a safe transmission. i hope i still get good performance.

read the gen 2 thread on trans failures
Are you paying the dealer for the work?
The replacement units since 2005 have a good record and run fine'
They dont detune the trans- they improved the clutches and oil flow

ok this is what happend my trans failed and my warrenty was up in febuary 2007 and i allways service my car at the dealer they know i take good care of my car. First they wernt going to fix it for free they wanted 3,500, to 4,000 so i tressed to them about everything i know abotu the TL trans and i had to call honda directly and all that shit well to make a long story short they told me to just pay 500 and they will replace it. so know its at the dealer.

I had mine replaced earlier this year - just before summer, I believe. I haven't noticed a drop in performance, although I will tell you the new unit makes a little more of a whine than the other - nothing annoying or loud, mind you, but noticeable nonetheless. I doubt you'll know the difference.

I paid $3k to have my tranny rebuilt at the local aamco 10k ago and at first it was very tight and slow to shift. It progressively got easier to shift and is now very smooth and shifts quickly. Performance is much improved from a slipping tranny that's for sure. Probably as good of performance as new.
