quick question
quick question
I've got a decent size pile of graduation money, and I'm planning on getting the xs-p headers, and I've heard both yes and no, but will I need to put the stock heat shield back over the new heaters? And if I need to, where would I be able to get a new one?
how much are the xs? i know members have them, but why not just spend $320 total shipped for the dc's, which seems to be what the experienced members recommend? ... & that would be the new model dc's that have no more problems.
dc headers, lightweight pulley (underdrive if you have no big stereo system), ebay intake (buy a better filter), ingalls torque damper ... you'll gain NOTICABLE power & have some fun for sure, & all of this should cost you under $600
i have an aem short ram. my question wasnt regarding what to you would recommend my question was if i need the heat shield over the headers. id like to be able to show them off but not if it will melt my shit.
Stock Heat Shield only works with Stock Headers (Looks pretty obvious to me) if you want to shield your New Headers you will need Heat Wrap But no need! you wont be melting anything with new headers the Heat shield is there to lessen the Heat soak inside the engine bay and into the radiator not to prevent melting.
Reason why everyone here Recommends DC Headers is because they are the Very best after the COMPTECH Headers.. Everything else is cheap crap and Why would you buy from the Same Company that Treats its Customers like shit? https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tl-1999-2003-98/horrible-xs-header-review-907778/

^ Bang for the buck, Overall fitment and Quality and User Feedback..
Point is there is less people complaining about a Manufacturer defect with the DC Headers than other Cheapo Headers so they are pretty good quality while being shit loads less expensive than the C/T Headers which are overkill overpriced IMO.
