Quick question
Quick question
I got a quick question, and it may sound stupid. and it may have been said before but i got the 2000 tl-p. If i switched the exhaust to the type s exhaust would that give me any gains? I have dc headers and aem cold air already.
Yes, but you shouldn't do that. Here's the diameters:
TL-P: 2" Diameter
TL-S: 2.25" Diameter
It's not worth replacing the entire catback for just a quarter inch. Even if you get a 2.5" diameter, you will only see max 10hp gain. So if you get the TL-S exhaust, you will not even get 5hp gain.
Only upgrade the exhaust for the sound. The TL-S exhaust won't give you any deep sound or anything, so go for a custom catback or ATLP. There are a couple other options as well. Maybe even axlebacks.
But if you're looking for performance gain, then get the lightweight pulley next. Since you already have headers, that's the next best mod.

Ok cool, so if i were to go to a custom shop, you think i should do a 3in from the cat? or should i maybe go for an axleback and put a type s cat?
and this is probably another stupid question, what about the exhaust on ebay like this

Well I was using the search toolbar and I saw you, Karanx7, talking about the drone at the low rpm level like 1500-2500. Even if i do a mid muffler delete, would i still drone or does it all depend? it drones now but not a whole lot. Its noticeable though.
And if I go with the pulley route, the aluminum one is the right one? I read that the difference between the steel oem and aftermarket would help recover hp, but can the pulley really do that? and how much?

If you delete the mid muffler, you won't get any more drone or rasp. It will just sound louder. However, don't delete the exhaust resonator, or you will get a raspy noise.
Pulley will give about 6-8hp. More importantly though, you will rev faster. That will make your car much faster, as you will hit the high RPMs much quicker.
2 options for the pulley:
-Option pulley for $30
-UR pulley for $200
Both are good pulleys, and there hasn't been any failures with either. Members have been running the Option pulley for over 50k miles with no issues.
