I have a 99TL with 172564 something mile on it and mine transmission is starting to slip, i went to a local AAMCO and thay want about 2600-2900 to rebuilt the transmission, now i love this car i had it for a few month now and it is really comfortable and its responsive not to mention reliable, i just had a baby and everything fit nicely stroller, etc.......i don't mid putting some money on it but i i dont want to spend too much money either lol....so i was thinking of doing the 6 speed conversion, i see that a few people done it and i've used the search and stuff, the only question I have is ......do i have to change the engine also? or can i use my existing engine?

i'm not sure, but i think it's kind of a long stretch with a 99TL...
you might have to do the engine swap as well...

of course, I HAVE NO IDEA!

 

the trans will bolt right up. Getting every thing to run right will be a whole different story. And dont ask me how to do it cause i dont know

 

there's a thread on here somewhere about doing a tl-p mated to a 6 speed, something about a new ECU or some other stuff, look for it, i cant find it lol
