Price on the Tein SS?

Just wondering what everyone paid for their Tein SS, that seems to be the popular choice around here. Also - did you install it yourself or did you get it professionally done, and if professionally done - how much?

Thanks!

Man, do i have the answer to your question. Ok, pay attention. I just recently bought my TEIN SS. YES THEY ARE THE WAY TO GO AROUND HERE! unless you care about damper, then everyone suggest getting the TEIN Basics since thats the only difference. Anyways, i just bought my TEIN SS from the vendor EXCELERATE thats on this forum. I guarantee you that hes got the best price on them. Ive searched everywhere and the average price is around $900.

I Bought my TEIN SS BRAND NEW from EXCELERATE for $860 shipped. If you pay with Pay Pal then you have to add 3% but if you send a money order to him then you can avoid that 3% fee pay pal charges. Anyways, $860 is the best price your gona find, im pretty damn sure of that and that price includes shipping so how could you go wrong. Also, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BUYING FROM EXCELERATE!!!! He answers every single friken question you have, hes reputable, reliable, safe, and most likely he gets your order shipped out ON THE DOT!!!! INSTANTLY!! GREAT GUY AS WELL. I also just got my CAI from him too.

As for getting them installed professionally, i will be having mine installed professionally in two weeks. THE WEEK BEFORE X-MAS, just in time for santa LOL! I live in South Florida between Ft. Lauderdale and Miami and i did some research and came across a shop not too far from me in miami that specializes in doing alignments for cars that have been lowered. They make sure your camber and everything is str8 so that you wont get bad tire wear. They also install coilovers and springs. I'm also having my rims and tires mounted and balanced there for $20 a wheel. Overall, there going to be Installing my TEIN SS, Alignment, and mounting and balancing all 4 new rims. With 7% tax it comes out to $620.60
If you wana know what it would cost for just install on the TEINS, then im assuming this place charges $200 and $300 for the alignment. The guy there just gave me a price of $500 for install and alignment so i figured that the alignment is probably more then the install. Anyways, i suggest having the TEINS professionally installed because you really dont wana have your shit fucked up by some random shop. DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST. I was actually refered to the place im going to and the friend that refered me to them SWEARS TO THAT PLACES WORK!!! Catch my drift, THERE A QUALITY SHOP. Anyways, just figured id write you a nice essay to answer your 3 sentence question since i never write really long replys hardly ever

I thought the noise came from the strut boots. Of course I haven't checked out my setup, but someone here told me that.

BTW, I love my TeinSS. Feels like stock TSX (my only comparo since I had a TSX to drive for 5 days while my car was at the dealership for tranny replacement)

Oh yeah, here's the final tally

860 for TeinSS shipped + 150 for installation = $1010

NOTE : Installation shouldn't be any higher than $150 though.

I paid $1000 for mines. The only reason I think mines cost too much was because I got it when they first came out. 3 years and 50K later and no struts blown.

I installed them myself, not too hard, just time consuming for all four corners

why would i need to buy another part to help solve the problem?

all 4 corners squeek when i go over bumps. it gets annoying. i've had them on for about 10k now..

doesnt matter to me anymore, car is sold w/ them =)

but look into megan racing coils!

I had the Tein SS on my 02 TL-S...I sold them and went back to my H&R Sports. Now I miss teh Teins...I'm considering buying them again. They are worth it if you are going to replace your stock shocks anyways. If you get Tein SS, sway bars, and grippy tires...you can experience what your car is capable of

As for squeeking, I think that springs don't come with the rubber spring isolates...so the springs coils will rub against each other.
