Power Steering Delete - ideas ?
I read about some civic oweners doing a p/s delete, creating a closed circuit loop at the rack, and something about a breather.
Has anyone here done this on a 2nd gen (TL-P)?
One less belt, less drag on the motor. Add some lightweight standard size pulleys, and ......
Thanks.

Its rather simple to delete a PS System, The thing is.
Will you Live with the Super Heavy Steering for DD????
A Civic its 1ton to Less than that (hatchback), And its Short wheel Base make it easy to turn even without PS, But not the TL, Aside from having a HUGE Wheel Base its very heavy It NEEDs Power Steering.
Unless you are planning to make the TL a Full Race Car and Strip it from its interiors to set back 200kilos or More then YES, If you do track days time to time and just have some fun with your DD then NO.. The Gains will be Marginable Vs some other Mods.

Slightly unrelated, but you should consider flushing the PS system. The steering for me became like smoothe like butter. 2 months later, back to normal.
Thanks for the info
Thanks for the feedback. I'm looking for other folks experiences, that's why this board is worthwhile. Ill just go with a lighweight standard size pulley set.
I already flush p/s and brake fluid every 30K - the advise is appreciated.
As for karanx7 comment - I guess that comes from knowing me sooo well.

That and if you want better feel from the steering and you dont have a Type-s loop the ps hose back together and bypass the variable speed device from the trans. You will have a heavier better weighted feel from the steering
I remember reading that the TL-S had a torque sensitive PS assist, instead of the speed sensitive one on the TL-P. Not sure how the torque sensitive one works, or would be bypassed.

I had PS deleted on my 5.0 some years back. I mean for daily driving not worth it, it was a cheap mod I did cuz I was broke and thought I would gain something.
Sure the mustang was a light car, but try driving stick with the stiffest clutch and no PS, thats a work out.
OP imo its not worth it.
