Performance Chip/ECU question

Howdy guys this is my first post so be gentile with me...

I have been searchin the net for all the performance goodies to slap on to my new 02 type s. so far i have devised a nice little plan with getting her breathin deeper with a injen intake and tsudo mufflers (there in the mail baby!) along with some nice mandrel bent custom pipes from the cat back. headers are gonna have to wait just a bit.

however, as with other cars just cause they can be modded to have the potential to be faster but not programmed to utilize their new found flex.

This is where my question comes in, i cant find a chip for an 02, anyone have any advice as to were to look?

Do honda ECUs still program themselves to your driving style and if so do i even need a chip or will the computer adjust its self to my more agressive style of driving and utilize the higher airflow?

Thanks for looking and i await your knowledge
J

most people conculde that the unichip is not worth the gains for our cars, when you have done all the bolt ons possible maybee you would want to do this to sqeeze out the last bit or hp

right on thanks guys. one more quick question:

on a honda si i had back in the day there was a way to quick reprogram your ecu to optimize performance, i dont recall all the details but it was quick and easy and didnt require any tools or much techno know-how. Do we have anything like this on the TL?

i think that on that old honda i just had to disco the battery and pull a fuse or two, i hope its that easy for these newer models

if you disconnect the battery it will reset the ecu, but theres no point unless you want to speed up relearning after a mod

Highly unlikely. You may want to ask this in the 3rd gen forum

Where do you get your information that the UniChip isn't worth the money...Any piggy back chip for our cars is worth IF you have the money.

Obviously you are not going to squeeze 30hp, and 30 lb-ft of torque. 10-15 hp gains are there.

I've noticed the more you mod your engine, the more tuning is needed...the output of a chip will release more hp and torque.

That's when I would get the A'pexi AFC NEO, not the unichip. From what I remember reading about the unichip, somtimes the unichip showed results, sometimes it didn't.
