Okay, so this is not a performance modification but I'm not sure where else to post this, mods feel free to move if needed. So, I have a 2003 tl-s and it is Anthracite Metallic, I'm not a huge fan of the fake chrome trim around the windows and on the door handles. I've been kicking around this idea of painting it, but I don't want to just paint it the same color as the car, that's just too easy, . Instead what I would like to accomplish is a sort of brushed nickle look. This is becoming very popular in the world of hotrodding and resto mods, if any of you are familiar with Chip Foose's work, then you know waht I'm talking about. Okay, the problem is that all the work I have seen done in this fashion has been applied to metal, not plastic. I'm wondering from you guys if anyone has any ideas of how to achieve this look on plastic, I have found that Krylon has a fusion paint in a nickel color, scroll to the bottom to see color, http://www.krylon.com/products/fusio...allic_shimmer/
But this won't give the brushed look I want, so I thought maybe wrap the trim in vinyl? Sorry for the long explanation but I want to accuratly describe what I want, any ideas?

 

paint it silver. then put another coat of silver and while its still wet take a fine soft brush and run it across the paint.

me too i got an abp 03 tl-s and ive been thinking about painting it black to give a sort modern look like the 3g tl type s but i wanna see it done already
