P2R Throttle Body Gasket

Does anyone have the P2R throttle body gasket installed?

I was looking into the ones that Outlaw Engineering make, but they don't sell the throttle body spacer and gasket by itself. With the P2R one, is it a spacer? Or will I need an additional gasket with it?

It not so much a spacer as in over a 1/8 think, but more along the lines of just keeping the heat from transfering from IM to TB and vice versa. All you will need is that gasket/spacer what ever you want to call in and a small tube of hi-temp gasket sealant(not really needed though) and use factory TQ specs on the TB bolts so you will get a good seal.

I have one installed... its just a thermal gasket. It replaces your thin oem gasket with a thicker one made out of a material that dissipates heat better.

My intake manifold stays cold with that and the intake manifold thermal gasket... even after a acouple runs on the 1/4mile

Do you mean 'and' a throttle body thermal gasket?

why not just install the p2r spacer with the gaskets. thats what i have on with my aem v2 cai. xlr8 sells them on their website as a package for about $100 iirc. when youre lookin up brands just click on xlr8 instead of power rev racing and click acurazine packages

Yea...I found that. It's $110 which is a little ridiculous seeing you can get the Outlaw engineering package for around the same price and that includes the Intake Manifold spacer.

Did you notice a difference with the spacer? How does it look? color?

well i knew it wasnt going to be one of those mods you "feel" lol. I installed it at the same time as my intake and boy oh boy were they both worth it, they fit perfectly together surprisingly and I got a lot better throttle response, but then again I'm pretty sure its only because I installed both at the same time. The color i received in the mail was chrome looking not really a big deal to me, but i liked it!

And yea i totally agree on no intake manifold spacer which kinda sucked for the price, but why not go with the p2r power plenums? I wanted to do that but they didnt have any for my car as mine isnt a type s.

The intake manifold spacer and the power plenums do different things. I haven't seen too much posted about performance improvements with the power plenums. Most folks go with the 09 intake manifolds instead, although fitment issues (fitting it under the hood) can occur with those. The power plenums are major $, but I can't tell if they are worth it since not much info on them.

Mix up with the MDX spacer?

The 09 TL IM is actually a bit lower than the TL's, IIRC.

No kidding Got the height thing wrong, but I did go back and check some old threads about fitment. Although it's a pretty easy bolt-on, there are some vacuum hose issues to deal with, an EGR issue which throws a code, and a wiring issue with the IMRC connector. Maybe this will redeem me...for tonight.

The butterfly flaps are not needed, they can be taken out.

There are extra vac ports on the 09 manifold but can be capped off easily.

When I installed mine I was getting a leak somewhere that was causing an erratic idle. All the extra vac ports were capped, but there was an issue with the thermal gasket lining up with the adapter. Had to make the whole where the bolts go through to slide it over and seal it.
