O4 head on an 02 tl

O4 head on an 02 tl

probably been asked 100 times already, i can get my hands on an 04 head for free. will it work?

Best to ask acura. See if part numbers match up. Bolt pattern etc. I'm sure honda has improved on the breathing efficiency of the 2nd gen head so you may get some gains from it if it'll fit.

By 'head', do you mean cylinder head? Those come in pairs. 04 has a J32A3 engine (base), so I kind of doubt it. Not sure I agree with the 'breathing efficiency' either for a cylinder head. Intake manifolds can breathe better, but heads???

Besides bolt pattern, for it to work the cam gears would have to line up right for the timing belt, the intake manifold (or actually the runners) would have to fit right, and the exhaust ports for the exhaust manifold. I know the 3rd gen exhaust manifolds are molded into the engine block, so that is totally different than 2nd gen.

I just don't see it happening.
