I am about to tint my 2002 tl. Does anybody know the vlt of the windows with only factory film and without it? I want to tint it as dark as legally possible in texas (cops mess with me enough as it is). Can I just tint over the original film or should I remove it. It has minor scratches but is in overall good shape. I want to keep it for better heat rejection but will remove it for to turn out better.

 

if you double press the tint it gets darker just remove the old tint and put on the new tint, pick a good shop and go lifetime warranty if you want to avoid it turning purple, the hardest part is the dot matrix in the rear window it can cause bubbles and look nasty if not done right

 

I think I'm going to remove the old tint. I think the previous owner put very light tint on it. I was just trying to make sure it was placed by the factory. I'm thinking about putting nano ceramic tint so I'm just going to take it off so it can adhere better.
