12" socket extension, 6 point socket, penetrating oil like PB Blaster (not WD40, not strong enough) to spray on stubborn bolts once a day for a few days before to loosen them up, new bolts are 10X40 1.25 or 1.50 pitch metric either 8.8 or 10.9 in strength.. just some of the things i found doing research on here before i order mine. all found using the search function. and please, correct me if i'm wrong on any of these.

also here's a good diy

You can always throw in a good saws all to cut some bolts if you run out of luck and give up

Quick question to confirm - are these only for TL-P's or will they also fit TL-S's?

Those aren't XS headers, I would be a little hesitant of those but for $50, I guess. I am more than happy with my XS headers.

Well I think I win with the low price. I got the headers for $97 shipped. Try going to xs-power.com. or to ssautochrome.com and telling them about the price on xs. both are the same headers and ssautochrome drop ships for xs.

Not every one has it. (actually most dont)

As to your question, its hard to describe, its just a slight resonance/sound you hear at a certain RPM.

Im almost positive that it is from the heat shield to the cat.. I heard it after I installed mine, so i riveted the heat shield in a few places to hold it snugly together, and now i never hear it when i am in the car. My resonance was at about 900 rpms when taking off slowly, and then at 2600 if taking off harder.

do you think the risk of havin resonance will be lower if you have a shop install it?

HMM I have also heard about people just taking off the heat shield for the CAT altogether. I might try this tonight, but I gotta fix my rear view camera first. It's not angled down enough so when it's on you just see behind you and can't see the road below. Doesn't give enough perspective to how close you are to things.

My subwoofer isn't working either, as I had to take it out to run the wires for the camera.

QUICK QUESTION:

When people talk about taking the heat shield off of the CAT to get rid of resonance, are you talking about the one directly wrapped around the CAT or the kind of plate one that is connected to the underbody of the car? Is it safe to remove both of these?

Any quick help is appreciated, as my car is up on the jack stands right now and I don't know which one to take off.

Well, after reading some other threads on this, I took off the one between the CAT and body of the car. I still can't drive it out b/c I have someone parked behind me, but hopefully this does the trick. I also took the rubber hanger off and slipped it off the downpipe.

its not a good idea to remove the heat shield.. if for some strange reason you get blockage in the cat.. in no time that thing will heat up and there is a chance that you rug can actually catch fire in the car. There are other options besides that. lol

LOL, well I've already taken it off and I have heard of other members doing the same thing. If anything ever did happen to the CAT, I don't think that thin piece of metal will do much. Sure, it may give you some extra time, but the heat shield will get hot and eventually transfer the heat to the undercarriage anyway.
