New muffler?

Ok so i hate the black looking stock muffler on my car, the tip is chrome but then the muffler itself is black. Anyone know any spray or paint that will make the black part a kind of chrome looking color? cause i dont want a catback, cause i dont want my car to be too loud and im not willing to pay 600+ for something i wont want. im just going for the look

this might be a stupid question but i have no clue

chrome paint is usually not very durable and will chip and flake easily. you could go to pep boys/autozone/advance auto and see what colors they have in their high temperature paint. look on the Duplicolor website first if you want. otherwise you have to take the mufflers out and get them chromed by a shop. could be expensive.

im not sure. all i know is that chroming, especially a piece as big as our mufflers, will be pretty costly. but i dont know of any aftermarket chrome mufflers that will be quiet/cheap.

hopefully someone with more knowledge of chrome can chime in.

What do you drive? you haven't set up a signature with info. Under your handle it says skyline. Is that correct?

I like the tsudo axle back they are just a very little bit louder then stock. Just me if you want just a little more tsudo is the way to go. Especially if you are going for a little more of looks with little exhaust tone change.

This guy is selling his used Tsudo Exhaust for 2g TL for 145.00 shipped. Its 380 shipped new so he should pm this member. If you haven't seen them here they are... I've got video if he'd like to hear them.

Here you go bro... If later on you'd like 15-20 more hp, add the J-pipe. It's $250-300.

just so there is no confusion, im going to point out a mistake, but please do not take this as a snotty correction.

it is not technically called a J-pipe for the 2Gs. We have "headers" which include a J-pipe. 3Gs only have J-pipes. If a TL noobie searches for a J-pipe for a 2G TL they will most likely come up with nothing, hence the need for the correction.

and yes headers should add 15-20 more hp. i have OBX headers sitting in my garage but have to wait till the spring to get them installed.

You are so right. I knew this being a CL-S6 owner. Those headers should pull nice. Megan Racing makes some as well

This guy is suspicious? His first post was asking for help about using this forum, and how it works? I thought that was just a weird question to ask...

Who said that member was local or close to you to pic up? You can do a nice muffler and have Midas install. I can post a few megan has that would match your TL and other company i mentioned. I'll go look and post.

This Megan Racing muffler is 115 msrp ea. are cheaper on Ebay.
http://www.meganracing.com/product_d...d=390&catid=21

http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...e=main&id=9363 $193ea. msrp

Best option and look Tsudo mufflers $79.99ea and are copies of Greddy SP2. http://tsudoperformance.com/index.ph...products_id=60

Now tosave cash i say buy Tsudo mufflers, install as your car sits now, then later add piping when you can afford it later. The nice sound will be there however the power will not (maybe gain 4-5 hp on stock piping tops) until you add 2.5in piping from cat then 2.25in after the split. It'll sound awesome. But if you like the muffler on stock piping (which Tsudos tl kit is anyway), then keep it that way. The main power gains anyway are from headers (20-30hp gain). PM me and we can converse further. I hope this is a good start. Ask me anything.
