Check this out
https://acurazine.com/forums/sponsored-sales-group-buys-10/injen-cold-air-intake-groupbuy-cl-tl-tl-04-tsx-317087/

Excelerate is one of our best vendors here at acurazine. If i were you i would stick with Injen. He sell s them pretty cheap. If i had an 02' like you i would have gotten an Injen intake. He sells the Cold Air Intakes. They give you more HP than the Short Rams.

Also check out the Private Sells & Trade section
https://acurazine.com/forums/non-automotive-motorcycle-sales-9/

maybe you could find something for a good deal there. Those are usually used parts but you never know what you may find.

oh yeah if you want you could go with ebay if you can't really find anything. I bought my AEM Cold Air intake used on ebay for $65. I re-painted it, changed filter and saved me a lot of money

But like i said, if i had an 02' i would definitely go with Injen, not AEM.

There is a new vendor Autoworks that is making custom intakes for our TL's. He just had them dynoed and put up the results on his thread. Don't know how much power they make compared to Injen or AEM, but I'm sure that they will be cheaper.

Buy from our sponsoring vendors whenever you can

A short ram is ok but does not bring actual "cold" air in to the system

The V2 uses a dual chamber design (using two different diameters and lengths of piping) that creates multiple frequency sound waves that claims to produce the largest area under the curve of any intake system on the market. The sound waves help charge the cylinders with more air throughout the entire rpm range and are what makes the V2 to outperform a regular cold air intake. I havent tried the V2, I had an Injen Race Division cold air on my last car and liked it, so I havent decided what to use yet. Well, I hope This helped!

Has anyone else had problems with AEM. I am looking to get a Cold Air Intake and was pretty much sold on AEM, but is Injen that much better? They're very very close in price so who's had better performance from what?

And i would place money on those who have had the mount crack isnt from a problem with AEM, but a bad motor mount.

Well i have a AEM CAI and so far (about 2 months) i have no complaints. I wanted Injen but couldn't find any that fit the 99-01 TL-P.

I've needed to get new mounts for a while. I probably should before getting new intake and headers, huh? Who should I contact for those? There are 3 right?

If that was true, then Injen would also be notorious for breaking mounts. Seeing as though they do not have that reputation, I would have to disagree with you and say the AEM clearly has weaker mounts.

where does the injen mount? Also i have one that i made out of steel and i have cracked mine 3 times now because i have a bad mount. I know mine isnt a weak mount, but i know i have a bad motor mount. If the motor can move enough it will tear it off teh side of the intake. AEM uses aluminum and where its attached it can cause it to rip it off just like mine has due to the motor mount being broken. Also the ARM isnt notorious for breaking. there are FAR more with them with 0 problems than those who have had them break.

The Injen uses the same mount location as the AEM. The Injen uses a rubber shim, which allows it to move a little.

Either way id still bet it has to do with a broken motor mount. Like i said ive torn a hole in mine (which is thick metal) 3 times now due to me having a bad front motor mount already.

the v2, however, is only for the premium model, it won't fit the type S. I have one and i love mine, the sound is amazing.

Are you using a rubber waher or insert? If not thats why its tearing holes. It has to be able to move, even if your mounts are brand new the motor is gonna move a little. Try a half inch or 1 inch thick rubber insert with a longer bolt where it mounts up. You wont tear any more holes.

By the way, I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm just trying to help you stop tearing up your intake.

Its got a rubber insert, and it can move. And the motor mount was new when i did the 6 speed swap but that was 20k miles ago and it has since been destroyed by the motor. My motor really moves around. I know the motor moves a little. but if it moves to much to quickly it will slowly tear the mount off the cai (as is the case with mine and most likely the others who have had this problem)

I'm just kinda waiting for some checks to come in the mail and than probably will be ordering so just trying to figure this out I'll be doing searches, don't worry, to get all the info, but I'm interested in getting opinions of people who have these products nad have gotten em recently

You would have to modify the V2 to fit the Type-S. AEM makes a regular cold air and I believe a short ram, and Injen makes short ram, cold air, and Race Division cold air. Im going with the Race Division cold air, I had one on my last car and loved it.
