Need help deciding what to do with engine build

Need help deciding what to do with engine build

So my base 02 is burning oil badly, rings are stuck. I work as a master tech at Honda, so as far as the work goes I can handle the build no problem. Now my big question is:

What should I build?
I have access to a J35A4 for 50 bucks, (sure not the toughest, but its 3.5)
A set of 05 RL cams,
the ability to port and polish the whole head setup.

Now what I want is a very strong daily driver that I won't need to worry about. To me the low end is far too sluggish, and the 3.5 sounds like a good ticket. Now if I go 3.5 could I use the RL cams as long as I use 07 type s springs? I've already swapped to an AV6 07 trans with 80k on it, so not too concerned with trans failure.
Or should I just p&p the heads, run rl cams, and keep the 3.2 bottom end and get some headers?
I'd rather not spend 500 on a J35a3 engine , since I really want to put fresh rings and bearings in the engine either way.

I have an SFAC I can make small adjustments to compensate for fuel issues.
Doing all the work myself and having parts at cost lets me play a little more without going broke.
