Question NavTool Install

Hi guys,

I looked all over and did not find a thread on Do-It-Yourself with pictures on NavTool Navigation Video Interface install. I just got my in the mail for my '03 TL-S, already have my I-Pod wired, now I need to merge the Navi with NavTool and the I-Pod, also have a Half-Din DVD player with rear view camera on the way. Will install the DVD player in the glove compartment.

Has anyone run in to a thread with a DIY step by step install of NaVTool Navigation Video Interface? If not, if you have done the install, can you give any recommendations/suggestions?

Thanks Guys!

What I am looking for in particular is the best way to route cables from my glove compartment to the trunk, as well as where to get power for the unit in the trunk.

NavTool is plug and play to the NavDisk player I believe. Just run a monster video cable from the trunk down the floor in the car using the right kick panels. They all snap off the interior of the car is a giant lego.

2004-2007 ACURA RL INSTALLATION MANUAL
Packaging list: Navtool Converter
12 Volt plug (two black wires one with a silver stripe)
Plug and Play harness
Before you begin the installation please become familiar with the products included in your package and the space you will be working in.
First off you must locate the navigation DVD-ROM in the Acura RL. The navigation DVD-rom is located in the trunk on bottom right corner. The navigation DVD-rom will have five unique plugs behind the unit. Please look for two black plugs.
Unplug the bigger 20 pin black connector and insert the plug into the plug and play harness, insert the other end of the plug play harness into the navigation DVD-ROM replacing the original plug.
The next step will require finding accessory power. Accessory power in the RL is found in the smaller 8pin black connector. PLEASE TEST THE FOLLOWING – usually accessory power is the white wire with red stripe(could also be white wire black stripe). BEFORE MAKING the connection test to make sure the wire has accessory power. Connect the black wire with silver stripes found on the 12 volt connector to accessory power.
Connect the other solid black wire on the 12volt connector to ground. The ground wire can be found in the same 8pin connector, usually the wire is solid black.
Please insert the 12volt plug into the unit to make sure the red light comes on. If light comes on turn the vehicle off and connect the plug and play harness to the Navtool unit.
If you are connecting a back-up camera insert the RCA wire into Video 2 and connect the blue wire found on the Navtool unit to the reverse input also found on the small black 8 pin connector usually green/black.
Connect green wire found on the Navtool unit to the handbrake and 2 white wires to ground. All three wires needed to be grounded in order for Video 1 to be activated.
