If you're looking for more noise.....just replace the mufflers with pipes out the back.

No you wont. But i will say be careful what you do, removing mufflers, some/different mufflers, resonator delete can cause drone. This care creates drone and it gets annoying fast.

that's it - go ask a few muffler shops for suggestions,
tell them if you want more sound-what tone, more power, current mods to intake- air filter, what do you really want it to do and sound like?
a good set of flowmasters might work?

i recently cut my rear mufflers out and put 24" x 2 1/2" piping on and i love it. no loss of power and absolutely zero drone, it sounds stock untill you get on it.

2:14 for WOT

There is drone at and around 2.5k rpm, when cruising it's fine. At 3k RPM drone is gone, and majority of the noise will come from the intake.

a guy at a performance muffler shop told me that flowmasters don't sound too good unless they are paired with a v-8 motor. he recommended magnaflow's

It's all a matter in the ears of the beholder, IMO.

He's kinda right, most flowmasters won't sound great, but they do make some for 4cyl/v6 but I've never heard em or recall the model#.
Magnaflows sound good on on smaller engines, and pretty good in general, but no two cars are exactly alike so can't say any of this is for sure for a specific car. I've had em on a few 4cyl, was nice and quiet on idle but sounded great wot. I would assume they would be good on out TL as well, probably better than on a 4cyl. I'm considering them myself, but am trying to look at all the options and hear all that I can first to get an idea

I'd say the opposite, Flowmasters don't flow well enough to be a performance muffler on a V8 but they do sound good. I put a Super 44 on my wife's V6 07 Impala, nice deep growl it sounds great for what it is. I have Magnaflows on my V8. I'm half tempted to put a Super 10 on my TL.

Just remember that the tl is a high revving motor, unlike that impala.

Yeah, while Honda motors are more than capable of high revving, the TL primarily is at home in the lower range rpm's while cruising.

It's only really when ya open up the VTEC and jump on it......that really makes the difference, IMO.

No one cruising wants to hear their car, only while at full throttle people would like to hear it.
Japanese 6 cylinders are very different from American 6 cylinders when comparing sound.
