Mod questions 02 type s

I've owned my 02 type s for about 4 months now, I I've got the Ngk iridiums, K&N filter, and some rims (look ok but ride like shit, that's what I get for cheaping out).

First off, I'm going to order an Injen cold air intake, I've been shopping around on the internet and I've noticed that the part numbers differ from place to place. Some places say it's the RD1480 and other say Rd1481 can anyone tell me which one it is or if they'll both fit??????

Next is the resonator removal, if that's what it's called. I've read the forums and noticed in the one forum they mentioned two of them, one by the intake and the other under the filter box. Is there one or two on the 02 type s. I haven't even looked myself yet so it maybe a simple answer.

Anyone got any advice on intake maintainence? Leave well enough alone,? take it off and clean it? Trottle body cleaner? fuel additive? From what I can tell, it runs pretty good, but the rpm's do fluctuate when the car is still warming up and it's in drive sitting at a stop light, but only for a few seconds.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

This site is pretty cool

I think the type S only has the one under the intake, behind the foglight. The tl-p has the one in the intake tube. I own a tl-p, so i don't know about yours. Most likely one for yours. No real maintenance, onther than to try to avoid puddles in the rain and to keep it clean on a schedule.

Try some fuel injector or fuel system cleaner, might help a bit. People have used Seafoam as well. From what i have read, it works wonders, but i have no experience with that. Good luck with everything. happy modding!

welcome to the forums! check for the injen cai in the group buy section in the black market. excerlerate will give u a good deal.

if u want easier maintainence on a cai.. get an icebox. it also yields the most gains.

If your getting a CAI you will have to remove all the intake plumbing. That includes the intake resonator. You dont need to worry about how many or which?
