Hi again, new to the forums I wasn't sure where to post this but here it is. What is too many miles for a tl? And are fog lights easy to install? My dad bought me the car with no fogs, it's got all the wires is it as simple as put them in the slot and plug them in?

High Mileage goes Hand to Hand with MAINTENANCE...

A very High Mileage un-cared car obviously is going to be a moving junkyard compared to a Highly Maintained High Mileage car.

I can Tell you easily that my Almost 200K Car is Working as good or BETTER than when I drove it off the Dealership back in 2002... But 200K will Scare almost 99% of Potential Un-educated buyers.

 

Thanks skirmich I have 153k and I thought that might be alot but I never miss oil changes and always fix a broken part immediately

 

Yah with good care those engines can run and run and runn up to 400K easily.. Another member had that on the same engine with no Rebuild..

 

Hey Barry95, the TL's are a solid well engineered car. Honda's finest.... built for the long haul ! But, beware of the problematic tranny's. This was their biggest issue.

Many have new or rebuilt tranny's to replace the original one. The latest recommended swap is using the '06>'07 Accord 5 speed AT from the V-6 models. It is of an improved design and durability.

Other than the trannys, basic general PM.....such as the T-belt, motor mounts, brakes and suspension will ensure a longer life for the car. Check out the "DIY"s for more info on common problems and repairs. Enjoy the site and make yourself at home !
