You wont see MPG increases from it. Many have done it. Its for sound only.

Its not going to effect the mileage either way. If it were to effect it it would improve it just because the exhaust is a little more free flowing, but the increase would be so small you would never notice. And what you might gain from it you will probably loose driving harder just to hear the sound.

Yes, you'll pass emissions. That is of course assuming you would pass it before the delete.

Anything you modify after the Cat has nothing to do with emissions

^^^ That should be in red... would the cost of the piping be included in most muffler shops bill?

^ its been done before

The cost of the piping should be included in the estimate.

One thing to keep in mind for those who have a TL-P, if you remove the mid-muffler, there is nothing else behind the cat besides the rear mufflers. This can increase rasp.

So if i have some Tsudos, its gonna have a raspier exhaust note with the mid-muffler removed? Why are the TL-S different?

TL-P has a 2" stock diameter exhaust. It also ONLY has a mid-muffler.

TL-S has a 2.5" stock diameter exhaust. It has BOTH a mid-muffler and an exhaust resonator.

I paid $40 total to replace the entire straight pipe, so a simple mid-muffler delete should cost an honest $20. Call around at different shops.

Close. It's 2.25".

I got mine removed for $60 a year ago and I thought I was getting a good deal. Then I searched around and found out people were getting it done for free

Oh yea, it was 2.25". I replaced my straight pipe with 2.5".

Yea, it doesn't really cost the shop anything more than 10 minutes and a couple dollars of pipe.

So most muffler shops, should have the piping already? Since they are a muffler shop and all and they specialize in it.

Even $45 is overpaying. They don't even have to bend the piping for something so simple.

Use the search button. There are MANY discussions on it. There are a few videos, BUT the sound is subtle and not something that you can really hear on a computer.

And even with NO mufflers its hard to make a V6 sound Ricey.

its an okay deal. i paid a little more. try and get some more estimates.

make sure you stand with the guy when the car is in the air and tell him exactly what you want removed. it is safe to assume that not everyone is familiar with the words "mid-muffler" and "resonator".
