Megan coilovers??
Megan coilovers??
Would i need a camber kit if i got these and made it like 1-2 inch lower? And will all my other stock parts hold up? And what are your thoughts on megan coilovers
1-2 inches lower then stock, or what those coilovers are rated at???, if just stock, NO, i was fine at like 2.5 with stock front, and only did i recently get adjustability up front, and that was more because of the cross camber issue, and not the actual amount of camber (like at 2.5 lower, you still only have like -0.8 degrees or so of camber)
as far as there Megan's coilover, i had some of there slip-on coilover sleeves on my old 94 accord, they were cheap and they came cheap, paint was already flaking off the springs when i got them
but then my bother had a set of there lowering spring on his 95 accord, and they were perfectly fine, and i think still on there like 5 years later

is megan, d2, function and form, ksports, etc really the same coilovers just rebranded and painted differently? i hear they all come out of the same factory but with different spring rates, paint, and badging
Definitely not, if you read up on the D2 coils some of them had a leaking issue, so far Function&Form have NO problems, megans are cheap coilovers with cheap material, just like NEX SS coilovers. That's why some are more expensive than others, the quality put in them.
I have been seriously thinking on getting the Megan Racing Coilovers because I loved my stainless steel headers from them, teamed with the Tanabe SMH cat-backs. I haven't heard too many good things about them though. I don't know if others show partiality towards other brands or what. I am shying away from Megans and probably go with the yellow sport Koni's and maybe
Tanabe NF210 springs "if I decide to lower it more."
It is a tuff choice! I did hear the coilovers do not last long in cold weather climates with the pot holes and frost heaves. My mechanic says," a lot of people are having problems with the adjustable springs in the coilovers. The harsh roads (frost heaves and pot holes, etc,) are damaging the threads." He recommended to go with a good multiple adjusting shock and proper height springs plus urethane bumpers to protect your investment if you bottom out.
I hope this helps a little. Each person has their own opinion though so, weigh them out and keep doing your research.
