Lowering springs.

K guys, I have been looking around at some lowering springs, and i am not really worried about which ones to get but i am curious to if they will blow out my rear shocks and struts? i also have 18x8 rims with +44 and there is some poke, so im thinking if i get it lowered there will be some rubbing going on, and to be honest i really dont feel like buying a new set of Eagle GT's. So any advice and knowledge will be appreciated. thanks a lot!

How many miles on car/ struts themselves. More than likely they are already worn out.

At about the same mileage maybe a little more I thought mine weren't that bad. When I took them off the car to put the new ones off they wouldbe even rebound in the rear. The way they slowly wear out you will almost never notice them wearing out. As for the rubbing it shouldn't be to bad if at all. If it does rub you should only have to trim the fenders. What size tire are you running?

I lowered mine with about 35-40,000 miles on it, and the struts started leaking in less than a month. In my opinion, kyb/h&r rides significantly better than tokico/eibach, but there are lots of choices out there.

Yeah and it's sucks to do all that labor twice especially if your paying someone to do it for you. And you have to take the whole assembly apart to change springs anyways. You don't even have to get adjustable shocks, plenty of people have run tokico blues with lowering springs. Just be careful which spring and shock combo you go with because If you get to low of a lowering spring it voids the manufacture warranty on the struts.

ok so im running 215/45R18s Eagle GTs (yes i know those aren't very wide, but my tires still have a little poke) and any strut spring combos that you recommend? im not looking to be slammed, i live in MN and i figure that would give me a headache and i don't want to be scared for my life every time there is a driveway or speed bump haha. i just want that 4x4 status up front to be gone...

H&r sport springs. Shocks are up to you, do you want adjustable or no?

H&R sport springs and Koni shocks. You will pay more for the koni shocks as opposed to some of the others but they are the best out there. I run this setup on mine and have no issues in the weather we have here or the roads.

Adjustability should matter(we arent talking height) . It allows you to adjust ride quality. And can make a huge difference in ride. My setup rides smoother than stock put far out performs stock.

ok so i did the math, and that will run me about 900 for that setup.. and for that price i can get some nice adjustable coil overs... wondering if those are better or worse? and if there is a comfort difference..

They arent any better. The only thing they allow you to do differently is adjust the height. If you dont get good ones ride will be rougher. Also in snowy climates and areas where they use a lot of sand and salt on the road ways will destroy the ability to adjust them easily unless they are washed frequently and lubricated to help protect them.
