Looking To Install Tsudos

hello

im new to the world of TL modding, and im looking to install a set of Tsudo mufflers on my 02 non-S, and i have a couple questions

1). i was looking at vetalik's thread that documented the removal of his 3rd muffler removal and i noticed the way the stock mufflers mount up. i dont have a welder, nor do i wanna pay for someone to install the Tsudos, so im wondering if its a good idea to remove the stock mufflers, cut off the pipe that joins them to the Y-pipe, then take the new mufflers and a section of pipe and join it all together weld free w/ exhaust clamps. i figure ill be able to use the stock flanges and some extra tubing to move the mufflers back towards the rear of the car. by the looks of things the Tsudos are smaller then the stock muffers, so i know ill need to move them back.

2). what diameter piping does the TL use?

3). how do i go about hanging the new mufflers on the stock muffler brackets? i dont know if its different as i havent looked under the car yet (only thing id done so far is upgrade the brakes) and i wanna know if the hanger is the normal dual bolt kind or if it needs a nissan style wire welded to the muffler

im not car dumb, as ive modded a few previous cars but im new to unversal mufflers and the TL itself. thanks for youre time
