Alright. Thank you for teaching me something new today. I'm talking about FirePR2002 and 01tl4tl...thanks guys! Cheers!

Now it's just a matter of getting the funds to get the rotors/pads and probably the racing brake ss lines and the Motul that Heel Toe sells....ARRRGH lol All I wanted was pads n rotors and now I'm looking at 400 for this brake job...oh well.

RacingBrake designed the ET pads material in-house because the rotor mettalurgy is so hard it eats common pads on the market- including hps
There are perfectly matched to the RB rotors

pads and rotors are 300+ for the great stuff

napa can hook you up with some 50$ rotors and lifetime~ pads if you just need the car to stop for now

$150 for 2 legend calipers will work on any brakes- its way better stopping pressure and the outer side has 3 fingers to hold against the pad

Ended up just getting the RacingBrake rotors and ET300s to keep initial cost down and I'm not really in the mood to bleed the entire system just yet...especially since I've never had the "honor" of bleeding brakes that has ABS. I've only done a brake bleed on a '91 Civic LX....and maybe on my '95 Jetta GL. Neither of which had ABS.

you'll be happy as hell with that combo, but i would suggest a brake flush - if not done by you, then take to a shop. all that stopping power will not be as effective or efficient with old and dirty brake fluid. i flush mine completely at least once a year.

Bleeding brakes on a car with ABS is no harder than on a non-ABS car. I'd recommend gettign SS lines and Amsoil DOT4 brake fluid when you bleed.

FirePR2002... I'd flush the fluid when changing the lines and calipers...(when I do that, I'm not sure..) Seems pretty dumb to just bleed and call it a day.

sbuswell..... RacingBrake SS lines are next up in addition to the calipers. It's just I couldn't do EVERYTHING all at once. I still have two cars to have timing belt services done, and that's not cheap. And how much does the Amsoil DOT4 fluid sell for, I haven't seen it much around where I go get parts/supplies. Also how much would I need to do a full flush/bleed?

What I was suggesting is that you do it now with the rotors and pads so you can get the full force and affect of the new parts.

just as a note of caution make sure you are pulling off type II calipers because type I caliper upgrade would be pointless, I would also like to tell you that there is a Big brake kit available for the acura-legend, www.acura-legend.com, do a search you'll find it right away, if you guys are looking for a BBK for TL and if TL and Legend brakes are swappable, consider it!

After tech inspector got done laughing, he would instuct you on proper installtion when doing a mod process--the original mounting was on the other side of the strut-thats why we have to swap them,,so the old way has nothing to do with how to install on this application!

the piston size diff was for the extreme use and equaling the forces against the pad,,(some racing rules no doubt being pushed to their limits)
Of the 3 or 4 versions of the caliper you can get, its maybe 4 mil max diff in piston sizes
The way you can drive a TL is not going to need the advanced physics~
While we buy them as legend- they were for the nsx
holy shit, i thought i was beginning to rack up a high "post count" being just over one thousand! anyways, im gonna check up on the original threads, this looks like a really cheap mod that is well worth the work

no, because you're wasting money on those (they're very expensive I've been told). get the legend calipers and paint the NSX on there if you want.

BINGO! I believe I read somewhere that the Legend calipers everyone is using are the exact same or VERY similar to the NSX calipers.

you better off with the legend calipers because 1) much much much cheaper and 2) the piston diameters in the legend calipers are larger than the nsx if you search the many legend caliper threads the comparisons are there.

Legend calipers + racingbrake 2 piece rotors or one piece if short on some money + ET300/500 pads + Racingbrake SS line = so much stopping power you'd pop your eyes out..

i'd love a 2 piece rotor tho..

I ended up going with the one piece RacingBrake UP rotors and the ET300 pads. I've got the legend calipers waiting in their boxes to go in. I'll replace them when I change to braided brake lines. (Also by RacingBrake).
