Intake Question

Does a 98-02 Accord V6 intake fit the 2nd gen TL's? Also does the type-s TL intake not fit the base model?

Will this fit a 03 TL base model:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...d=360259543051

I know...I know eBay intakes are not the same quality as the name-brand ones but i just want a temporary one for now.
Thanks for all the help.

TL-P intake is longer than the TL-S, so you should get one that fits your car properly.

yea i thought it was longer but its a short ram i wouldnt think that it would be that much of a lenght difference on the TL-P and TL-S maybe i could be wrong?

ok so my ebay SRI came in today and i installed with only one slight issue.

the port for the IAT (i think) was too far from the end of the metal tube that went to the stock intake. i dont know why its made out of metal and not rubber or foam. it burned the shit out of my hand when i accidentally grazed it. whatever. so i had to add that blue tubing (which came with the intake) for it to reach the port on the intake piping.

anyways here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2001-...ht_1984wt_1165

I would get a quality rubber hose from the auto parts store and replace the stock piping with it. That blue hose doesn't seem like it'll last long.

Oh and it's not the IAT, its the PCV pipe.

OP, why not get an intake specifically made for your make and model? makes things a whole lot easier. are you searching for a cai or sri?

if you're looking for performance, then go for cai. if you just want it for sound, get a sri.

you know this setup is actually quieter at the top end than my previous one (pep boys cone filter in place of stock airbox). i guess the metal tubing is more of a sound insulator than the stock rubber tubing.

It vents hot air/oil vapors from the crankcase back into the intake. That's why it burned your hands.

you can always cut a portion off and then connect the rubber hose and the metal piece that way you wont have all of that extra tubing everywhere...

Isn't the TB intake port on an S-type a few millimeters wider than base?

As long as it's a quality auto rubber hose, it will be fine. My Comptech Icebox came with a rubber hose for replacement, it was made by Goodyear.

Get rid of the piping and hide rubber, it looks much better.

ok so i got a chance to cut down that blue hose in my picture above. it looks a lot cleaner but i still need to replace the metal tubes with rubber hoses so its even cleaner. as far as the intake performance goes, so far so good.

i want to go Cold Air but i just cant justify the $200+ price tag. i want to do something like what Volly (i think it was him) did and just extend the piping on the short ram with pipes from pep boys and add a K&N filter, or something like that.
