Installing window switch for Type S conversion

I have everything set up for my Type S conversion on an 03 TLP. The problem is I don't know where to hook up the 12v lead. I could try the battery but like the idea of a fuse protecting the unit. There appears to be a fuse box on the upper left hand side of the engine compartment. I see there are fuseable links and fused power sources in it. I tried hooking it up to a 10 amp fuse but the MSD unit did not light up. I assume the light comes on when it is powered up.

I looked at all the posts for both CL and TL and do not see a directive on where to wire the unit to. Can someone in the Acurazine community advise on this topic? Sure would appreciate some help here>>

Wire it off the battery WITH a inline fuse. Or get a multi meter out and test which wires in the under the hood fuse panel are switched with ignition. I personally would run it thru the firewall to the back side of the drivers side fuse panel where there are spots to connect to and put a inline fuse in and connect to the switched spot.

Thanks for the detailed response fstty....I have hooked up an inline fuse and tried getting the box to power up and nothing happens. I am assuming that the display lights up when powered up. I even tried hooking it up to the battery (fuse attached) and nothing. Can you verify that the display lights up when hooked up to a proper power source??

I just took the MSD unit to a stereo shop I patronize and the tech asked me if I had fuses on both fuse inputs on the line I purchased at Radio Shack. I only had one...duh. He put 2 fuses on and it fired right up. Look forward to hooking it up after work.

Does the IMRC need a separate power source asides from what the msd switch sends it? http://www.acura-tsx.com/forums/showthread.php?t=486697 on post #9 of this thread it mentions a constant power supply (right side) going to it but I wasn't sure if it was coming from the switch or not.

Manifold and throttle body were easy. The IMRC wiring with the window switch was a little more challenging only because there were not a lot of posts on the topic or perhaps more accurately I did not find all of them..

I will write up a post for the mechanically challenged like myself.

Type S Intake Manifold - $100
IMRC - $60
Throttle Body - $60
MSD Window Switch - $100

Assorted odds and ends - $20
