Installing a by-pass valve?

So the CAI I purchased for the tl didnt come with a bypass valve, and now since our beautiful sofla is being hit by tropical storms, ive already had my fair share of close calls with the hydrolock monster

So im wondering if I by a bypass valve separately, could I just install it on my existing intake?

What type of CAI?
The Comptech Icebox does not need one as the filter is up in the bay and the only thing lower is the bell.

i get paranoid as hell too just don't drive in puddles man and if ur stuck in a storm just lay off the gas, no problems for me so far

if you think about it the only way it'll hydrolock will be if your driving through a foot of water. rain and that mist cars and trucks throw up behind them isnt gonna be enough to hydrolock anything since its behind ur bumper and covered from the bottom with that plastic lining. laying on the gas won't help but you shouldnt be doing that when its raining. thats my

I wouldnt waste my time and money on it. If the water is covering the road use your head and dont drive thru it.

hmmm interesting

Well I dont drive my tl like a lifted excursion through water, but sometimes the roads in south florida arent as kept up as they should be, and you sneak up on puddle that could be the kiss of death for you tl, but i'll just try to avoid them as best as I can

true. don't waste your money on one. if you're driving in water that high to begin with, you're gonna have other problems regardless.
