lets me system bump without all the lights in the car dimming, helps phase out noise, and also when i turn the a/c on it doesnt drain all the power out of the car, so far the ground kit and the optima red top have been a really good combo, im very pleased..

okay, so basically it's to keep from draining power from other parts of the vehicle while using things such as subs that drain more power. I kind of get it. Is an Optima battery really worth it?

good grounds are essential to any operating electrical system. i upgraded grounds on my taurus SHO when i still had it and saw a world of difference. supposedly the subaru 2.5 impreza guys have seen substantial horsepower increases (5-15hp) from grounding upgrades, but i've never seen this evidence myself to say either way.

im not sure if it really is going to add power. i heard that it increases response but im questionable about that. i can see the whole increase in electrical performance but not much in gaining noticable HP.

Good iunformation. Maybe I can find this somewhere. Sounds like a worth while investment. Don't know about Optima batteries. Expensive, and apparently being discontinued?

Optimas are awsome. i would opt for them instead of going with an oem or diehard. well for las vegas since it gets so dam hot its worth having a battery that does not dry out or crap out on you. my stock battery only lasted up until like 3 months after i bought the car last year so about 2 and a half years. so vegas kills batterys like mad crazy. plus under the hood gets super hot. i would love to opt for the dry cell batterys like the stinger ones since they pretty much last forever but the batt cost over $200. its great it you have a system. but i dont have one i just wanted something is more cca's. the red top is great id definatly recommend it.

as for the grounding system it usually does help out a lot. depends on the type of car if it helps that means the grounds on the car are very poor. like they say you get majority all the power from grounds not the positive. like when anything electrical fails you always check your grounds first not the postives. ive heard of people having better throttle response, no headlight diming, electronics are brighter and work faster, and some HP gains cause its less strain on the electrical system so it does free up some Hp. not much but some. if you look into some other systems some actually place a grounding current in the system so it acts like a stabalizer to keep all the grounds with a good current like the apexi!!. good choice in grounding system just cost $$$..

Don't want to jack this thread...but since we're talking about ground wires. Has anyone install the Hyper Voltage System from Sun Automobile on their TL? Do you think it's worth the money?

if you have a big stereo or something else that drains the power from your car, then yeah its definatley worth the money

you can make your own ground kit for vey little money. I replaced all my grounds with ice 99.9 copper core heavy insulated wire I got from autozone. it has connectors on both sides. I just cut one side off and stripped and got tsunami gold plated screw down terminals and it made a nice difference in stereo clarity, headlight brighteness. engine was a tad bit more responsive and my car started stronger/faster. I spent a total of 45.00 for the wire and terminals and it took only 1.5hrs.

I know this is an old thread, but could you post some pics of the install? How did it turn out, did you notice anything from it?

If you have an aftermarket stereo system with amplifier ill worth it for sure .. you can do your grounding kit by yourself, just buy some 4gage wire and connectors ..
