Cheapest route... take off your intakes resonator, and have the mid mufflers taken off. if thats not good enough Headers and full cat back exaust with no mid muffler. cost @$700. Magnaflows mufflers sound nice. Keep looking there out there.

you can take the resonator box off youself and it should be less than $80 to have an exaust shop to take off those mid mufflers. look on youtube or search this site for exaust clips. AND remember, typically, if the exaust sounds nice and agressive, it will have resonance and drone at certain rpms. probably louder than you may want.

how do you think it would sound with just the resonator box off? would it be noticeable? and what if i take just the mid mufflers off and leave the resonator box? sorry to be so ignorant about this stuff. trying to learn

do both. the resonator will increase performance, but little sound increase. midmuffler delete will sound louder and is worth a shot if your broke.

PEOPLE ARE DUMB! all i know is the more air in, the more power your car makes, the same with the exaust. resonators restrict flow. whoever you read that from is a retard.

again, PEOPLE ARE DUMB! crawl under your bumper, remove splash guard...easy... and use a ratchet to take the bolts off. might require taking off the top of the filter box to get to them all but no removal of bumper or fender.

I would say your the dumb ass and don't know squat about exhaust, very stupid statement, the engine perfroms better with a certain degree of back pressure and exhaust scavanging, Only engine that runs a straight unresticked exhaust system is Top Fuel drag motors, they also use magnito's too, why because of the type of fuel and the engine's design, every other drag motor has tuned headers and some have mufflers too. Kudos to you for searching first. It's the bumper cover, not fender, that people take off. You can remove the intake resonator without taking the bumper cover off, but it will be more difficult.

Speaking of resonators, keep in mind there an exhaust resonator, too, but you probably don't want to remove it since it will leave a raspy sound. Mid-muffler delete won't sound raspy. Tsudo axle-back mufflers aren't too expensive if you want new ones. Do a search on here, and there are some posts with videos of how they sound.

i would like to prove you wrong. removing the resonator will not increase performance. when you remove your intake resonator box, there is really no way it can suck up cold air, because the box isn't even angled down to the bottom of the car! it does however provide more of a growl and a slight humming noise. you won't even feel performance gains even with a cai tbh.

midmuffler delete will make a huge difference in sound, especially with just a pair of tsudo's (which are the cheapest and most bang for your buck exhaust).

how do i know this? i took off my intake resonator before purchasing a cai, wasn't that much of a growl compared to a cai of course, but it was a free mod (plus i like that humming noise that everybody hates).

btw, if you need help removing your bumper.. there's a DIY in the DIY section. 4 clips on the bottom of the bumper, 2 screws (one on each side), then 2 screws (one on each side) to where the bumper meets the fenders.

the best route for you would be for you to remove your intake resonator box and spend $30-60 (depends on the shops you find) bucks removing your midmuffler and replacing it with a straight pipe. I got mines done for $40.

What at lower than 800 rpm! Obviously you don't know shit so why even leave a post like this! Vtecmonster is looking for an afordable way to change the sound of his car. You got a better answer?... no, your just talking out you ass about shit you have no clue about! why do you think people by cai, headers, and exaust....to increase air flow, simple as that. LESS RESTRCITION =MORE POWER.

Save your money for a cold air intake then! I think it sounds pretty cool, expetially around 5000rpm when the vtec kicks. Thats my favorite sound. there around $200 new but look on ebay cause used is fine, just buy a new k&n fillter for it. It will sound better and perform better than stock. and don't do the exaust if your girl hates it, it will probably be louder than she will want....mine is, but I don't care

It's not loud. Have her watch and listen to the video in post #8 here https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ighlight=tsudo This is mid-muffler delete and Tsudo axle-back mufflers.

Or...get another girlfriend

A CAI reaches down a few more inches, but removing the intake resonator box does allow for air to be pulled from a lower point than stock rather than warm engine bay air. The hole in the fender sub-frame that the CAI goes into is the same hole that the bottom of the air cleaner box uses. But again, the CAI reaches down a little further.

i took mine off yesterday and didn't really notice any difference but once i got on the highway this morning and had to press the accelerator a lil bit harder i noticed a bit of a deeper growl but nothing like
"OH, WOW! OMG!"

those Tsudos look real nice for only 259. shit, my cai can hold off just a bit longer and i'll get them mufflers instead
