Hypothetical Gear Question

Is there anyway that as a result of replacing the stock gears with aftermarket gear ratio, that I could throw my speedometer off. Specifically, make the speedometer read out that I am going slower than I actually am? ANd if so what gear ratio would throw my speedometer off say 5 to 10 mph? I rollin with a 99 Acura TL 3.2

you mean you got a ticket and are trying to say a mod to your car caused a speedo error?

Well there was a court decision that says our odometer reads 5% higher than actual mileage- so that would mean the speedo is indicating higher speed than you are doing- that wont help~
if you had really rad change in tire size that could do it- got a buddy with a shop willing to write a note?
Otherwise pay the fine and take traffic school if offered to keep it off the insurance record
