How Do I Paint The Engine Cover?
I WANT TO PAINT THE ENGINE COVER THE SAM COLOR AS MY CAR (FPR) HOW DO I GO ABOUT DOING THIS? WHAT KIND OF PAINT DO I USE? AND ARE THERE ANY SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS...STEP BY STEP PREFERABLY.
Hey Jenifer. Check out the DIY section of the forum section. Also, try a search, this subect has been talked about endless times.
You can use simple spray paint. Most prefer the high temp ones found at the auto parts stores.
The Quick and Dirty info:
1. Remove engine cover
2. Clean it really well (remove crud, grease, etc. - dishwashing detergent works as does any degreaser)
3. Wet sand it (some have dry sanded)
4. Clean again
5. Spray with color of choice
6. Sand again (wet)
7. Spray again
8. Repeat #6 and #7 as necessary
9. Reinstall
Also, don't use all CAPS, thanks.
