how to clean an exuast

hey guys my brother just gave me his old exhaust its a cat back and i was just wondering is there a way to clean it a bit? i know its a bit rusty and all but is there a way i can just polish it. Also can i just use soap and water and lots of rubing to get some of the stains out.

wd-40, metal polish, some elbow grease

post a picture, to show us its condition and see what shape its in.

its gonna be a lot of work but if your willing to go through with it, you can use some high grit sand paper and metal polish.

Mothers makes a good metal polish.
They have a kit that comes with a foam ball that attaches to a drill.
That kit might come in handy.

If you don't mind spending some cash, might be easier to get it polished at a powdercoating/finish shop... I dunno if the condition matters or not though...

Steel wool and degreaser.
I prefer 0000 steel wool and Formula 88 de greaser.
