3rd gen TL engine swap into 2nd gen TL
I think my car may have jumped timing and i want to know if it is possible to swap the motor from a 3rd gen into my 2nd gen. My boy found me two 04 motors but were not sure if they'll swap in.

guessing they carry different ECU and some wiring harness--if you grab all that--anything can be done with enough time money or force
why do you think you jumped timing
is the belt laying in a pile not connected anymore?
Might be a simpler repair than inter-gen swap
ck the diy list,,3rd item down the main thread list when you enter 2nd gen

No one has done it. It has different exhaust manifolds that wont bolt up, it has drive by wire throttle and other sensors. Look for a 2g motor, it will be much easier
And why do you think your car may have jumped timing? Typically that doesnt happen, but Belts break.
