go with an aftermaket 55 Watt HID kit if you want it to be brighter than stock.

Also with 55W the Kelvin Rates kinda get distorted ex:
5000K becomes soooo Bright is just too agressive on Oncoming traffic.
6000K becomes the new 5K.
8000K becomes the new 6K.

If you go with 55w kit id recommend 6000K to match 5K 35w.

There are no Side by Side comparison but this is what ive got over da internet!
6000K 55W:

VS
6000K 35W:

This isn't correct. Kelvin is simply a measurement of color temperature which does not change based on lumen output. If it's 5000K than it's 5000K. 55 watt will just produce more light, which personally I think is overkill for low beams and may blind other drivers from reflection even with cutoff; 35 watt 5000K HIDs are already brighter than your average car's 50 watt halogen headlights. 55 watt HIDs could also damage the headlight's reflector over time from the extra heat since they are only designed for 35 watt HIDs. He should just use his fogs if he wants more light.

As far as color temperature goes, 5000K is a nice mid day sun white, 6000K is evening sun with some blue in it and is not quite as bright as 5000K. You don't want 8000K or above as the visible light diminishes and turns blue or purple in color.

Hey sorry to jack the thread, but I just replaced my OEM bulbs today, and forgot to screw in the security torx screw. Is it that important to have it screwed or could I leave it? The cap seems pretty tight/secure to move by itself.

You don't necessarily need it. The torx screw was there for security because back when this car was designed, HID's were a hot item to steal. Now you can get them cheap so HID theft has gone down considerably.
