I recently found a crack along a weld on my comptech header. It is around half an inch long, and I currently have it in a shop to be re-welded. Im just curious as to how much power i've been losing, if any. Thanks.

 

Just a suggestion... have you contacted Comptech and seen if they will replace them? I think a faulty weld would be covered under the warranty.

 

I forgot to mention..this header is old, past the 2-year warranty period, so unfortunately im not covered by it anymore.

 

Wow. That's a first. I have never heard of a Comptech weld cracking. Before this year they had a 2 year warranty I believe. Now their warranty is 3 years. Call them to see if it's under warranty.

 

I, too, was surprised. Do they still accept warranties even if I don't have the receipt? Also, do cracks in welds take away from hp?
