Grounding Kit Installed

I ordered a V6P grounding kit a few weeks ago and finally had the chance to install it this afternoon. Im dont think many others have tried it out on this board and figured that writing a short review would be a good way of spreading the word.

The install took a little over 1 hour. There are people that claim to have their kits installed in less than 30mins but I prefer to take my time and make sure everything is done properly. All the terminals were connected to the groudning points with no problems at all except for the grounding positions from the batter itself. Its a little out of the way and can be hard to get to. I would have taken pics but theres really nothing to see since the kit I ordered had black cables and it just blends in with the car.

After everything was in place I let the car idle for a bit and then took it out for a drive. Immediately I noticed that the stock bose system sounded A LOT cleaner. The sub was much more pronounced and did not sound as sloppy.

Acceleration was also much smoother and the gear shifts were not as harsh. Its hard to say whether or not there was any increase in power but she did get up to speed quickly, probably an increase of 2-3whp at most.

I havent had a chance to see if my headlights are any brighter but hopefully in the next few days I will notice something different.

What I found interesting was my fuel consumption. Normally after a few spirited runs I see the fuel gage moving down a a line or two. After the install I did a few runs and noticed that the fuel gage didnt even move. I turned off the car for a bit and turned it back it and it was at the same level as before. Now this doesnt say much right now but I will definately keep track of it on my next fill up.

I hope this info helps anyone thinking about getting this kit and if you have any questions about it just ask!

Any pictures of all the grounding points or locations? Any documentation that comes with it would be nice too

A couple of people had done this intall over the years and say it definitely idles smoother.

Excellent. Now that I've gotten a base line, I'm gonna do this and see if it makes any noticeable difference as far as power is concerned. Do keep us updated.

I will try to take some pictures tomorrow and will hopefully have them up sometime soon. I actually forgot the install guide at my friends shop and by now he has probably thrown it in the garbage. The good thing about V6P is that they provided colour pictures will all the grouding points and the instructions were very simple to follow.

PA- Im sure you have seen the dyno on V6P with the grouding kits. It was on a 98 accord and it gained approximately 5whp and 2 ft-lbs. It will probably be somewhat similar on our cars but anything is possible!

i used 4 guage wiring from my system setup, and changed ground wires from

bat-chassis
bat-engine
bat-alt

easy process, bought terminals from future shop and got it done, looks good wit the blue wiring, and yea if u rock a system (i got 2 amps, 1 capp, deep cycle batt) its good to do. buying an 300amp alternator can help big too.

The V6P grounding kit is not cheap but it definately looks good and the quality of the terminals is great. The battery terminals / covers are also a nice feature and you have the option of getting them with V6P etched on them. I decided not to get the etched terminals and Im not really sure why I did that.

I put a few grounding wires in as well but didnt make them all run back to the battery like I think most have it. I just ran it in series with all most of the points back to the battery. I just wanted to compare to see how they had it done and how it looks in the other TLs.

What gauge are they? 8ga? I put some 8ga and 4ga in there since I had some laying around.

For about $20 or $30 I had put something together but I wanted to compare to the $110 one.

when placing your order just mention in the comments that you have a TL and the kit will be designed accordingly. It takes a few weeks before they are shipped out as I think they are a bit behind. It took me about 1 month to get my kit but for 2 of those weeks it was in transit.

btw it doesnt increase power of anything since its not involved in the engine performance, it just re circulates the negative engery better than the stock copper wires that come wit the car. since it gets corroded (SP) the negative energy relays back, and doesnt complete the circulation 100%, by upgrading the ground wires, it makes the circulation good as new. ur light wont go brighter if ur running a stock system (audio) since what else is ur car draining power from? power windows ? lol

I dont really care whether or not the cables are overpriced. They are around 130usd but thats fine since I dont have the time to bother fabricating my own set.

Yeah it is just a trade of between time and money. And crimping 4ga wire is a PITA, 8 gauge is not so bad. or at least i dont have the tools... i use a hammer

if you got pictures of the instructions or what not that would be great. Thanks...

Aftermarket ground cable kits due create a better ground than OEM. It will give a full and clear signal - allowing your car to run more efficiently which will allow for better performance I.e. noticeable by a smoother idle (some find this important), improved starting and throttle response (hmmm...) , and no headlight dimming when you turn on the a/c or heater (that would be nice). Additionally, it will also stabilize the engine at higher RPM’s. Any improvements in fuel mileage and horsepower and torque will vary with each car (possiblilty<7hp)
