I think you should start using the search button first, then ask questions later. There are tons of information here for you to read until you are 19.

To summarize everything

Spinning thingy a.k.a the "Turbonator"= Complete BS and a waste of money. Restricts air more than it helps. Dyno proven.

Generic Intakes= What can I say, you get what you pay for. Cheap quality, possible fitment issues. If you have no other choice, then get one and throw on a K&N Filter. IMO, on a nice car such as the TL, it only deserves the best (name brand mods)

a friend of mine bought a CAI of ebay for his 98 protege, its so fucking garbage, i didnt tell him that, buy im sayin it in my mind cuz it sounded like shit, and make his engine breathe so much harder. also they missed to send him a rubber ring clamp, and there was another hole in the CAI tube itself to like install a mini filter, it was fucking stupid...

u get what u pay for.

I got a generic CAI on Ebay and had issues with thi aux hose inlets being in the wrong place and the filter hitting the fog light. I will have to cut the intake (doing it tommrow) and i had to extend the hoses some with the included hoses but it came with a K&n filter (cone shape) and was $115 shipped so i guess that you get what you pay for and if you are willing to do some extra work you can save some money but that is everything arround cars and life in general. If you do not know what you are doing you are better off getting something from sites that know what they are doing and not some cheap guy off ebay.

You do get what you pay for. I spent about $175.00 on an AEM V2 and couldn't be happier with the quality. Now all I need to do is get a K&N filter for it. If you do buy something generic at least make sure some one else on here has some experience with the same one.

spent 185 on my AEM CAI...the bracket that holds it to the engine bay ripped off and theres a wonderful hole in the side...not entirely getting what i paid for; it does sound very nice tho, I've thought about just cutting it and making it a short ram

actually getting what you pay for is really false.... if you spend 180 on a aem cold air intake... all it is is a alluminum tube and a filter on it. brand name stickers basicly everything you buy at retail is a rip off.

hey vt...if you want the link to the exact genric intake i have p m me.

Ive seen plenty of things that are you get what you pay for. which are much cheaper and are crap. (and vise versa) so saying its false is false
