Hey fellas....

Now here is a small issue that I came accross. When I installed the add-a-line fog light switch mod in my TL the green indicator light on the switch stopped working and I got a check engine light with a SRS light on the dash. Anyone else come accross this issue??

You mess up with the electrical current that's why the SRS light on. Never heard of engine light on due to this, but SRS light on is normal in this case due to reason above or phone, laptop on passenger seat. Search around will have thread to show you how to reset the SRS light.

The guys at the dealership reset it for me. Do you have the mod?

same thing happend to my as well, check engine and srs when doing the mod.. cleared the check engine by disconnecting the battery and cleared the srs with the aformentioned link above. Never had a problem since. Mod works great.

Does the little green light come one when you turn on the fogs by themselves? I would really like to put the mod back in but I dont want that damn SRS light to come back, or the engine light.

Also should I use the "diode" fog light mod? or use the "splice two wires together" fog light mod?

I know that with the diode mod I can turn the fog lights on when ever I want.

I would like to know if the splicing mod would cause a SRS light to come on as well.

The green light suppose to turn on whenever the fog light is on regardless with or without foglight mod. Sound like burn bulb to me if your green light is not on.

I use the diode fog light mod since I'm not a big fan of splicing wires. Splicing wires might/will void warranty on any electrical system if the dealer found out. Just go to Radioshacks to get one. It's very cheap.

SRS light will come on when there is a short circuit during mod/installation electronic device or electrical interferrence from phone, laptop placing on the passenger seat. It's an easy fix so it's not a problem if it's on again.

I have the wire already set up and can be installed in 5 minutes. I just don't want to deal the idiot lights.

I took out the mod and checked the switch, the light turned green when the fogs are turned on. Did you use the #8 fuse?

Well, I don't think I'm going to screw around with the fogs. I already killed my fog light indicator and don't want to run the risk of popping another code and possibly voiding my warranty.

Where you guys find the DIY - diode fog mod? It wasnt in the DIY area.

Just make sure you disconnect the battery before you start when working with electrical things and all will be fine. It is because you remove the instrumental cluster fuse probably with the key in the ignition.
