Egr Valve

How do you clean the egr valve? Do you take it off and spray intake cleaner down the holes? Correct me if im wrong but it is mounted on the front driver side of the motor with two bolts holding it.

Thats cool I have already cleaned out my EGR PORT on the intake manifold, but im talking about the EGR VALVE. Its on the driver side towards the front of the motor, it looks like a solenoid brown in color with one clip with wires running to it and its held on by two bolts.

The EGR valve itself should not require cleaning as its just a flapper valve.
Is it sticking open?
The clogged ports inside the intake manifold are what usually make the car idle bad.

Usually if the egr valve itself is bad where its to the point of needing cleaning it needs to be replaced
