How did you "check" them?? Did you remove the upper intake manifold and look, Did you flip it over?

That ticking IS normal for us. Its the Purge Control Solenoid. They do become noisy.

Ive told you 3 times now to take the manifold off and flip the gasket over. There have been a few that have installed the gasket upside down and it has caused issues with CEL. Only way to know is if you take it apart and flip it. You cant test it by spraying something around it.

I think Kris means the metal OE gasket that is the base gasket, gets flipped upside down under the thermoblock during install, and has caused at least 3 other members a similar problem
You need to spend 30 minutes and pull it all apart and reassemble.
While its off- the TB can be turned upside down and the IAC cover and valve easily accessed and cleaned with carb spray cleaner

Lean plug can mean many things-
the coil test is not simply unplugging one- it requires taking 1 known good one (good to have TL friends) and try it cylinder by cylinder to see if it makes it better somewhere.
1 coil make be partially working- weakly, and your test wont reveal that.

Whenever stumped by a problem- take off whatever you did, and start from scratch putting it together again. That usually fixes it.

So i had someone pull apart the manifold and throttlebody gasket and it was right. I also cleaned out the IAC and the CEL is still on... should I reset the ecu?

did you check the large edge gasket under the top of the manifold cover- another member with thread on -Miss and CEL- finally rechecked that gasket and it was indeed upside down and once installer to spec the car runs perfect

I stand corrected on which gasket to flip over, it was the upper cover gasket that can be placed upside down and causes it. ( i knew it was a manifold gasket)
