No, You dont have to remove it to install subs. You can tap into the sub leads behind the rear seat for a line out converter signal.

rca converter connects to two speakers wires and converts it into a signal that comes out through rca cennections...all you have to do is wire up the amp like f it was connected to an aftermarket headunit.....also you should find a fuse that only on when the cars on to wire up the remote turn on to the amp.....

its been my experience that the stock radio doesent put out enough of a signal to supply an amp with the correct ammount of voltage it needs. fords when used with a rca line converter put out ~.5 volts, most aftermarket decks now days put out ~4 volts. my friend who i work with has the exact same amp as i do is using his stock ford radio (06 explorer) and his works ok until you put a serious load on it.. usually about 3/4 of the way up. the amp cuts out, due to the "dirty signal" my pioneer deck which has 4 volt pre outs supplies my amp with enough of a signal to crank it all the way up. im sure it will be fine as long as your not using a serious amp, or your not cranking it up too loud. we both have the same kenwood mono block amps and 2 12's (same) only difference is the deck. dont take this as fact for the acura h/u because i have no idea what kind of volts the speaker leads put out (i changed my deck before i could measure it), prolly not more than ~1 volt. give it a try, but be ware that if the amp is installed correctly and still cuts out, its prolly the deck.
