true, but it would be nice to see another charger on the market besides comptech
sounds like a plan to me. But it is a lot more expensive than the Comptech, or so it seems. Yeah, but it does offer more bhp than the comptech blower. I don't even have the money for a comptech one. Maybe next Christmas
Makes since that this charger makes more HP than the comptech. I mean Comptech SC design is the Roots Type Charger. Roots/Eaton Type Charger is the least efficient type of blower.
The Supercharger being made by Red Shift Motor Sports seems like (I'm assuming by the amount of horsepower being added to a stock TSX, which is like over 60% of it's stock HP) is the Twin Screw Type Charger. The twin screw design is alot more efficient and it's prevalent in super sports cars... Ford GT and the Mercedes SLR just to name a couple.
Of course this is just speculation on my part. I guess we won't know until they release a proto type.

I was looking at pictures and the centrifugal supercharger looks a lot like a turbo, but it would have to be located right near all the pullies. Is that why there wouldn't be room? And is the shaft the only real difference in the way it sits versus the Comptech?

Which will be excellent. I can't wait for something like what Red Shift is offering. The Comptech SC is great and all, but for the kind of power it looks like Red Shift will offer with a possible front mount intercooler, it's a great alternative.
Oh yeah, and Kris I know they are different styles, but I was just asking as far as design. You were saying the Comptech is like an Eaton type maybe amd the Red Shift is a Centrifugal. I don't know the difference yet, but I'll definitely be looking into it.

Centrifugal

Roots

Twin Screw SC

Great read Kris, thanks. It looks like the bottom line is that the Twin Screw is the most efficient, and the roots is the least. But the Cetrifugal isn't good on an automatic and only works at high RPMs. Too bad they don't make a Twin screw for our car. Some one should get on that right now.

So Kris, the real question is, is it worth it to shell out all the extra cash for this new Red Shift Supercharger kit if it does happen. Or should we all just stick with the comptech application?
