Defi gauges???

Hey guys.

Iim going to be selling my Autometer C2 gauges soon. im going to pick up the Defi Gauges now. But im up in the air as to what im going to replace the OIl pressure with. Im thinking of putting two temp gauges in now. one to monitor trans temp and the other for Oil Temp. i think oil temp is a little more important since it does tell you when the motor is starting to lose power.

So the thing is if i go with the two temp gauges. i was thinking of going with the white face for the trans temp and the black face for oil temp?? what do you guys think?? or should i just go for matching White face temp gauges?? Let me know what you guys think?? The oil pressure im going to 86 it. i know a lot of people who run the oil temp now. a lot of JDM tuners use oil temp instead of pressure. anyways. let me know what you guys think??

thanks j

i dunno just to have something too fill in the extra hole LOL its either the pressure or temp lol.. Plus Defi does not make any other type of gauge. mostly pressure, temp, Boost, vac, and A/F.. if they had a volt id buy that. haha. but i figure might as well put something in there that is sort of important. i know best motoring puts oil temp gauges on stock cars they test. but they are pretty much exotic or factory race like the NSX-R. but i figure something to fill in the extra hole. if i had a 1 gauge pod id only put trans temp nothing else.

Hey guys. to answer both of your questions i have it a-pillar mounted as we speak. i have my Auto meter gauges in there now. but im selling them as soon as my defi gauges coming. i ordered the temp and the oil pressure. this is the link to the ones i bought.
http://www.nippon-seiki.co.jp/defish...dg/dg_top.html
Its the D-gauge. 2 1/16 white face with amber back lit. the Autometer C2s are awsome but they just dont go high enough. I did not want to run just one Defi and one autometer. So i got both of them.

As for the mounting on the A-pillar. i basically bought the Lotek One for the CL and Modified it to fit. It was just a trial thing. I custom made a piece of plastic and used plastic welding rods to weld the both pieces together. Im still not finished with it just yet. i just wanted to get the gauges in. So when i redue my gauges with the defi ones now im going to finish it up. ill get more pics of it up soon. ill take some pics for you guys today and ill post them so you can see what im doing. just keep in mind that its not permanent and its still in the works. just to let you know its a pain in the ass to get it to conform to the shape of the stock a-pillar but if you have time and patients then its ok. the ending result is worth it. ill post pics soon..

As for the Apexi Neo. i dont need a fuel and Vtec controller on my TL. im thinking of putting that on my integra that i have. im working on a 87 integra with a JDM b16a. i heard the apexi vafc and safc dont do much for the TL. basically i only have bolt ons. if i was running boost then thats another story then i think i would opt for one. but its a idea to think about. its just so expensive.

Very true with F1 the Neo works a lot better...........I was thinking though with all the gauges and then a color display Neo in your sunglasses holder your interior would look sick..

During the Day time not lighted up:

W/parking lights on:

What needs to be modified:

These are my Autometer C2 Gauges. IM selling them very soon within the next couple of days. i have the Defi D-gauge series coming in with in the next couple of days. it looks awsome at nite. very very intimidating. i always have people looking at me cause they see me glowing blue haha. i just have fun with it. but the gauge reads too low for me. i like having a little room for the gauge to go further up. but i mean i have seen it hit pretty much 250 but have not gone over. but pretty much there. so it looks like the gauge is peaked. but its ok. i just wanted something that goes higher. so yeah the oil pressure works like a charm though.

As for the Pillar gauge mount yeah it looks like crap at the top. its all wavy and stuff. but i will be fixing that very soon. im going to fill more plastic and smooth it down a little better so it looks much nicer. i just did a test fit for now. i knew i was going to take if off again to paint it. so thats why i just left it for now. when i put in my defi gauges in im going to fix that. so i hope the pictures help you guys out. also i showed the pictures that shows how much you need to ext the top of the pillar to fill in the gap it was terrible. but again this is made for the CL. it fits on the bottom perfect but just the top came up short.

if you have any questions just let me know.

J

the neo is a great tuning tool. it takes the guessing work out of using the other safc and vafc. although i belive the vafc-II has much more tuning options. i think they made the neo as a universal tuning tool for all cars. but the vafc-II is a honda-acura specific tuning computer since i believe there is over 30ish crossover tuning points you can adjust. something like that i know you can tune a lot more finely with the vafc-II than the Neo. but dont get me wrong the NEo is an awsome tool. if i had the cash for that one id buy that instead.

Like you said the gauges and color monitor is awsome. i totally agree with you. if it had a large impact with churning out more power with just adding the bolt ons and tuning with that i would invest in the NEo but i dont think it will help very much if running bolt-ons.

but good idea and option though.

Well i opted for the DEFI D-Gauges I just got them in today. White face oil pressure and Temp. so ill be installing them in tonight or actually right after i get off this computer. then im going to try and fix my pillar just a little bit better. Ill post some pics up when im finished tonight. The good thing is i got these just in time Nippon Seiki just discontinued the D-Gauge for the US and replaced it with the blue racer series. i like the blue but it does not match anything in my TL. ill post some pics up when im done!!

Defi Gauges installed. I got them in last week friday and so i had some fun. the Autometer gauges are out and the Defi's are in. they are so much better id say. The good thing is they dont attract so much peoples eyes cause the C2s are so bright they are like whoa whats that blue dude!!! hahaha. but yeah they are so much more suddle i like them. at a cost though. they costed me about twice as much as my autometers though. but i love them. if you are thinking about the d-gauges you better jump on them now cause they are discontinued so if you like it get it cause they are going to be harder to find. the reason i went with the d-gauge is because you dont have to buy the link. the link is like another $100ish and the gauges are much more than the D-gauge. the good thing is they are so easy to install. everything is with a harness. it just plugs right in. the only thing you have to hook up is a constant(red), Accessory(Orange), Ground(black), and Parking lights(White). thats it. the sensor has a clip harness that you feed though the firewall (PAIN IN THE ARSE!!! ) which clips right into the back of the gauge. so its so much easier to install than the autometer. but i loved the autometer when i had them. for the price i could not complain about autometer they have always been in my past cars. but Defi is the newest on the block!!! haha. i hope you guys enjoy. if you have any questions feel free. !! j
