Question Comptech Questions

Hello I am new to the forum and need an opinion on some information I got from Comptech Engineering regarding the mods I have planned for my 2002 TL Type S automatic. I am thinking about headers & downpipe, axelback exhaust, icebox CAI and Rear sway bar.

They advise that
37 HP/29 TQ can be obtained on 2003 3.2CL Type-S 6-speed with Header/Downpipe combo on their Dyno

They also advise that
14 HP/12.8 TQ can be obtained on 2003 3.2CL Type-S 6-speed with Icebox Airbox on their Dyno

They go on to say: "The gains you will see are very very similar to the TL-S gains. We do not have dyno sheets for the axle-back exhaust, but you can expect an increase of approximately 5-7hp at the wheels from the exhaust alone"

Can anyone on the forum independantly confim these figures
Also any feedback or suggestions on how to proceed would be appreciated, if other better options exist please advise, thanks!

but doing them leaves you open to doing their S/C or custom turbo in the future, in that you will gain more from the the S/C or turbo instead of leaving everything stock
BTW: it is CT engineering now, basically the same company, and same f***ing website just at http://www.ct-engineering.com instead

You'll most likely see less with the Auto. They did the dynos with a CLS6.

Maybe someone can correct me, but those first two # seem to be on the high end...

And 5-7whp for the axleback alone is pretty bogus. Which is why I questioned the first two #s.

yeah the auto trans will suck up quite a bit of the additional power
what aftermarket performance company doesn't exagerat (spelling?) their numbers??? and normally it's only peak power gain not average across the power band

^ don't forget that the CL 6spd doesn't have that extra VSA body before the throttle body.

so the gains of the 6spd will vary a "lot" from a 5at

i wouldnt suggest getting the comptech swaybars. ive read a few threads of members having them rust and snap. you could go with eibach or the 3g progress rear sway. theyre bigger than the comptech sway bar too.

Does anybody have a rough idea of what the gains will be on a 5AT TL-S. My headers and j-pipe just came in today

Yeah, they were used.

Only way I see someone getting a set of brand new ones for that price, is if they were stolen :P
